The History of Victory Assembly of God

Our church was birthed through much prayer.  There were approximately 13 people that came from the Vacherie and Chackbay areas who attended First Assemlby of God in Thibodaux.  On September 15, 1985 these 13 people and their new pastor Robert Zannini came to Vacherie to start a new work in a local storefront building.  In February 1990 this young church purchased 5 1/2 acres of property on Highway 644.  September 2, 1990, Rev. and Mrs. Douglas Bergeron became the new pastors.  The church continued to grow and in September 1994, ground was broken for the present facility.  After nine years of prayer and hard work, the Lord blessed us with a new church.  The facility was dedicated to the Lord on September 9, 1995.  On September 22, 2002, Pastor Larry and Sister Debbie Youngblood took over the Pastoral Care at Victory Assembly. Pastor Larry and his wife believe that God has brought them to Vacherie and that Victory Assembly of God Church will be a "Whole Church for a Whole Family" providing support and encouragement to the families in our community.
